Join us at The Forum-Mountmellick, for a fascinating journey through the rich heritage of our town and the communities that helped shape it.
This talk will explore the history and significance of Mountmellick's churches, including the Catholic Church, Church of Ireland, Methodist Church and other historic places of worship, as well as the Masonic Lodge. Discover how these buildings and communities contributed to the social, cultural and physical development of Mountmellick over the centuries.
The evening will also highlight Mountmellick's remarkable Quaker heritage and its lasting influence on the town. Attendees will learn about the important role the Quakers played in shaping local life and how this heritage continues to inspire current community projects, including the new development in the town square.
Hosted in The Forum, itself a former Presbyterian Church, this event offers a unique opportunity to explore the history, traditions and heritage that have made Mountmellick the town it is today.
Whether you're interested in local history, genealogy, heritage or simply curious about the stories behind the buildings you pass every day.
All are welcome to attend.
