Once the political heart of Diarmait Mac Murchada’s kingdom of Leinster, this iconic Norman stronghold was built around 1200 by William Marshal, Earl of Pembroke. Over the centuries it has witnessed shifting power, conflict, and change.
Though only half of the original square fortress survives, what remains is impressive. Join a free guided tour to explore the best-preserved tower, with its beautiful circular chapel, original fireplaces, and vaulted ceilings. Climb to the top for sweeping panoramic views across the Wexford countryside.
