Extended opening and Flax Heritage event at the West Cork Regional Museum, Clonakilty for National Heritage week.
The museum is located at Western Road, Clonakilty (P85YY48).
Come along and see our fascinating exhibition on the extraordinary women from Clonakilty and neighbouring townlands who were involved in Cumann na mBan.
This is in addition to displays on Michael Collins, Tom Barry and the Civil War as well as an extensive collection of artefacts depicting the Civic, Social, Sporting and Agricultural history of Clonakilty.
We are also fortunate to have the Clonakilty Council book dating from 1675.
We have planted an enclosed bed of flax at the museum site this year - tying into the history of flax growing locally - and in conjunction with the local Flax Lín Community Heritage project.
For National Heritage Week admission to the museum is free.
National Heritage Week event for period 15th August to 23rd August.
Opening hours are Wednesday to Saturday 12 noon to 4.30pm, plus extended opening on Sunday 23rd August 12.00 to 4.30pm.
