Exploring Our Foundations: Exploring the Geology, Hydrology and Biodiversity
of Glenamaddy Turlough

Join us for a relaxed and informative walk and talk at Glenamaddy Turlough, where we’ll explore how geology, hydrology, and biodiversity come together to shape this unique seasonal lake.

Walk alongside:

- Dr. Siobhán Power and Dr. Ted McCormack from Geological Survey Ireland
- Raedan Doyle, NPWS Ranger for the Glenamaddy area
- Rosina Joyce, Biodiversity Officer, Galway County Council

Together, we’ll uncover the hidden foundations beneath our feet—from limestone bedrock and groundwater systems to the rich habitats that emerge with seasonal flooding.
