Conservation of the Ten Pound Tower at Moone Abbey House
The Towerhouse at Moone Abbey is in receipt of a Grant from the Community Monuments Fund. The planned work involves the restoration and stabilisation of this 15th century building, uniquely converted into a dovecot in the 18th century. The project is led by Conservation Engineer Lisa Edden (CORA) along with Archaeologist Sara Marandola (AMS), Conservation Architect Laura Bowen, and Conservation Builder Chris Nolan (Nolans Group Conservation & Restoration Ltd).
This event will start with Coffee at 11:00 and the opportunity to chat informally not only with the professionals directly involved, but also to some of their conservation colleagues , who will have been technically examining the site earlier in the day. Sara, Lisa, Laura and Shane will then talk about and demonstrate the objectives, techniques and methodology of the work they are undertaking on the Tower House this summer.
