  • Start of pedestrian only seanbóthar national trail on Corr na Móna side
  • Co. Gaillimhe – Contae

4.6km to explore 4.6 billion years of earth's history at a scale of 1 million years a meter by the majestic Lough Corrib

Tar linn ar an seanbóthar !

Let's explore the beauty of Joyce Country and Lough Corrib from the vista of the seanbóthar national trail between the villages of Corr na Móna and Clonbur/an Fairche. And while we walk, let's dive in to the history of our planet at a rate of 1 million years per meter. We'll talk not only about what happened in Joyce Country but also in the wider world.

Event is free but prior registration is required

This walk will start on the Corr na Móna side at the pedestrian only start point (53.5221, -9.4438) at 12pm and end about 2 hours later at the pedestrian only end point (53,5267, -9.3754) on the Clonbur side.

For information, parking for this event is in the village of Corr na Móna, about 2km from the starting point of this walk. And the end of the walk is 4.6km further so will require a 6.6km walk back to the car. Alternatively, there is a local link bus service (route 431 from Claremorris to Carraroe) passing through both villages.
