We’re delighted to be partnering up with Donegal Town Walking Tours (aka our very own Niamh Coughlan) for this special version of the Donegal Town Heritage Walk, including free admission to the museum.

Enjoy a 90-minute relaxed stroll around the beautiful and historic town of Donegal with a professional guide. This town was once the stronghold of the mighty O`Donnell Clan who ruled Donegal for hundreds of years. Beginning at the atmospheric 15th century ruins of Donegal Abbey, the rich medieval history of the restored castle built in 1474, stories of trade and emigration of the once bustling harbour, the remarkable account of the Four Masters and how they compiled one of Ireland’s greatest historical documents in the turbulent years of the early 1600s, the churches, the history of the Donegal railway and its sad demise and tales of the people who lived, worked, traded, built and conquered in the town.

Runs Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd August at 12pm, starting at the Donegal Tourist Information Office, Quay St. This event is free, but tips to your guide are welcome.
