Aidan & Kevin O’Donnell and Friends bring an evening of exceptional traditional music to Heritage Week, celebrating the living heritage of South Donegal and the generations who have carried it forward. Their deep love of Irish tradition, paired with decades of musicianship, teaching, and community involvement, has shaped countless young players and kept our cultural practices thriving.

Raised in Dunkineely, the O’Donnell brothers have travelled from local sessions to some of the most respected stages in Ireland and beyond, yet their commitment to home has never wavered. Their music is rooted in place—its stories, its people, and the shared pride of a community that continues to nurture creativity and tradition.

Aidan O’Donnell, former TG4 Young Musician of the Year and Oireachtas fiddle champion, now works with Music Generation in Tipperary, passing on the skills and spirit of the tradition to new learners. His teaching reflects the same generosity and passion that shaped his own musical journey.

Kevin O’Donnell’s, (O'Donnell School of Music Dunkineely & Donegal Town shop), contributions to traditional Irish music are truly invaluable. As a performer, mentor, and educator, his influence stretches far beyond the stage. His legacy will endure through the many musicians he has guided and the cultural life he has enriched.
