Circular Economy - Art from a Skip

Bray Tidy Towns invites you to experience a unique journey — from skip to art. In a time when resources are limited and the need for a strong circular economy has never been greater, this event showcases the creativity and ingenuity that can emerge from materials destined for landfill.

As part of Heritage Week, we aim to highlight the potential of salvaged and reclaimed materials: wood and components diverted from waste streams, and everyday objects given a second life through skill and imagination.

Local craftsman Blaise Alexander will open his home and workshop to reveal the wonders of wood and the art of reuse. Visitors will see not only his finished pieces, but also the tools and machinery he has built or repaired using reclaimed parts — including equipment powered by shower pump motor and a leather apron with its own earlier story.

This event celebrates heritage, craftsmanship, sustainability, and the belief that beauty and usefulness can be created from what others throw away.
