Celebration of Monkstown's Heritage

Monkstown Heritage Event – August 15th.

Join us this August 15th for the Monkstown Heritage Event, a community celebration of the history, culture, and people of Monkstown. This family-friendly event will bring together local organisations, residents, and visitors for a day of activities that highlight the heritage and character of the village.

The programme will include a photographic exhibition featuring historical images and memories from Monkstown’s past, offering an opportunity to learn more about the people and events that helped shape the community. St. John’s Church of Ireland will welcome visitors through a special Open Doors event, providing access to one of Monkstown’s important historic landmarks.

Monkstown Bay Sailing Club invite everyone to the clubhouse, where visitors will have the opportunity to explore the club's rich archives and discover its long maritime heritage, while Monkstown Tidy Towns will lead a guided heritage walk, sharing stories and insights about local landmarks, architecture, and community history.

The event is designed to celebrate not only Monkstown’s past but also the strong sense of community that exists today. With activities for all ages and interests, it offers an opportunity to learn, explore, and connect with neighbours and visitors alike.
