Free Castle Tours
On Saturday & Sunday 16th & 17th and 23rd & 24th August, explore the historic sights of Carlingford with our expert tour guides. Discover fascinating stories, follow in President Biden’s footsteps at Carlingford Castle, and enjoy an informative and engaging journey through the town’s medieval past. John Hanlon’s Vintage Museum – Saturday 23rd August
Step into a world of classic engineering at John Hanlon’s Vintage Museum, postcode A91 ED66. From 1.00pm – 5.00pm, enjoy a fantastic display of vintage machinery, including beautifully restored tractors, vehicles, and equipment. Entry is free, with donations to the Maria Goretti Foundation. Parking is available in Hanlon’s lorry yard.
Carlingford Viking Experience – Medieval Festival Weekend
Mark your calendar for Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th September, when the Village Green transforms into a Living History Viking Camp. Meet re-enactors from the Fingal Living History group, see the impressive Ardglass Viking Longboat, and enjoy street entertainment, markets, and interactive family activities from 12.00 – 5.00pm daily.
All events are free and part of National Heritage Week, funded by The Heritage Council and supported by Carlingford Lough Heritage Trust.
