Bog Walk to the Sandmartin Wall

This event will introduce the walkers to the beauty and serenity of the Bog.The Clogher Bog Walks continue to build on the foundations of the past. The bog is a important part of the natural landscape and is home to a variety of Flora and Fauna. In the past it was an important part of the local economy in terms of providing fuel for local people. Today it is a haven for wildlife and especially provides safety for the Sandmartin who travels each year from Africa. This safety is in the form of the Nesting Wall where the Sandmartin can build their nests free from the danger of predators like Foxes.

The bog walks also offer an opportunity to experience the peace and tranquility of the countryside.
