Biodiversity Tour - Bray Golf Club
Bray Golf Club occupies an elevated site on the west side of Bray Head, covering 187 acres. As well as offering wonderful views of the surrounding countryside, the course is a treasure trove of biodiversity, with over 40 species of birds recorded, almost all of which nest in the ancient woodland on the course. The Forest and Wildlife Committee in the club have planted over 1,000 native trees, manage wildflower meadows, native hedgerows and has a number of beehives, The Club is entirely self-sufficient in its use of water on the golf course. Rainwater is gathered and applied in a targeted way exclusively to water and maintain the greens and fairway areas. 4 artificial lakes, holding up to 20 million litres of water, enable us to manage our sustainable watering. The lakes are also home to much wildlife.
