Castleshane Forest and Estate: A Bi-lingual Walking Tour

Join us for a Bi-lingual Guided Walking Tour of Castleshane Forest and Estate incorporating the History & Heritage of Castleshane House, Waterfall, local Place-names, Flora & Fauna.

Visitors will be led on a 2 hour walk of Castleshane forest experiencing a cultural, historical and heritage immersion in to the local area and landscape. There will be shared information on local placenames and their links to the local area historically and geographically, a detailed exploration of the forest and parklands with special visit to Castleshane waterfall, viewing the old estate house ruins, once belonging to the Lucas family and giving a history of its location and significance to the local area.

This event has been funded by Monaghan County Council Heritage Section.
