Visit Bantry House gardens and grounds for free on this Heritage Week special day – Wednesday, 19th August.

The Ellen Hutchins Tree and Shrub Trail at Bantry House Gardens takes visitors on a tour of nine trees and one shrub from around the world. They include Mountain Pepper from Australia, Gingko from China, Chilean Myrtle and our native Irish Hazel and Oak. There is one plant that is neither tree nor shrub, with the biggest of leaves.

The leaflet has fun facts, descriptions of trees and ideas for tree-related activities. It is designed to be taken home and coloured in.

Copies of the free leaflet can be picked up from Bantry House (or downloaded from the website www.ellenhutchins.com).

The trail is also available on any paid visit to Bantry House and Gardens throughout the season.

See separate entry for free Children’s Nature Art sessions also on Wednesday, 19th August: 2pm to 4pm.
