Architectural Tour of Malahide Castle

Join architectural historian and Malahide Castle's curator Cathal Dowd Smith for this behind the scenes tour to digest the architecture of Malahide Castle. Built in successive phases over 800 years Malahide Castle gradually developed into Dublin's most picturesque castle. From eighteenth-century decorative plasterwork to fine nineteenth-century craftsmanship this tour will uncover some of the origins of design that went into the castle's creation as well as revealing some recent conservation efforts to preserve the castle.

Booking isn't required. Places on the tour will be offered on a first come first served basis on the day. Arrive early to avoid disappointment. Please register at the ticket desk located in the visitor centre in the castle's courtyard before arriving to the castle.
