Another Time Undone, curated by Eamonn Maxwell, explores how family, land, and legacy shape artistic practice. Featuring Vivienne Dick, Adrian O’Carroll, and Jill Quigley—all Donegal-born—the exhibition isn’t strictly about Donegal, but rather the lasting imprint of place.
The artists use photography and image-making not to romanticize the region, but to reflect personal, often playful, engagements with memory and environment. Each work records time uniquely, resisting tourist clichés.
Vivienne Dick’s A Skinny Little Man Attacked Daddy (1994), filmed in Donegal, documents her family's daily life. Shown in the county for the first time, it’s accompanied by recent medium-format photographs capturing the landscape of Northwest Ireland.
Adrian O’Carroll presents a new body of work investigating the quiet, fragile relationship between people and nature. His largest piece, Maghera, frames the view from a cave to an empty beach, invoking isolation and reflection.
Jill Quigley’s playful approach disrupts architecture through photography and installation. Her new piece, Frames, frames, frames (wreck tangle), references a deserted cottage in Inishowen, incorporating sculptural elements and a reclaimed section of wall from the site.
The exhibition is accompanied by a commissioned essay from Clare Gallagher.
