The inaugural National Heritage Week Event Awards saw Cooley Peninsula Tourism and Carlingford Heritage Trust scoop the "Best Overall Event" award. The event Medieval Carlingford went back in time to recreate the environment and ambience from the time of King John's visit in 1210. A recruited family lived in Taaffe's Castle for a week, exactly as they did in 1210!
