St Brendan the Navigator was born in Fenit around 500 AD. Visit our Statue and Heritage Park and enjoy blue flag beaches, a playground, great local food, watersports and amazing views of the Atlantic.
Our outdoor Heritage Park is open all year around and admission is free. It openend in 2004 for the enjoyment of tourists and visitors alike and honours St Brendan the Navigator. His famous travel adventures across the Atlantic were written down in monasteries across Europe. Many places in and around Tralee Bay associated with him exist to this day, including his birthplace, Fenit Island, Tobar na Molt Holy Well where he was baptised and Ardfert Cathedral, one of his major monastic foundations.
