Steam Train Visits Kilkenny

The RPSI will travel to Kilkenny with 300 People on Sat. 24th Aug. behind Steam Loco. No. 85 Merlin. The carriages are early 1960's and painted in a Blue/ Cream livery. We arrive 12.55 - dept 16.40.

The loco is called " The Big Blue Engine" and was the express engine between Dublin & Belfast. It was built in 1932. On board will be Sir Henry Inglesby's Fife & Drum Corps from Carrickfergus in their Napoleonic uniforms who will march to Kilkenny Castle and play from 2.45 until 3.30pm.
