From Prominent Iron Age settlement to modern day village, the history of the North East village of CastleBlakeney.

Gallagh Bog man (c500BC). Horse racing (c1700) around the village. Church of Ireland church built 1711, Heritage Centre (1999). O'Kelly & Blakeney families, Scottish, Napoleon connections and American relations.Stories:Local famine orphans that left Castleblakeney & traveled to Western Australia in 1852. Mannequin of Mary Anne Taylor, orphan, who left in 1852 to Australia never return but family have traced their roots back to Castleblakeney. Mannequin figures of Ms Sarah Kelly to John McManus.
