Cork Migration Stories

Cork Migration Stories

24 August, 10am - 4pm

  • Cork City Libraries with researchers from the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultures, UCC
  • Cork City Library
  • Co. Cork City

Do you have a letter, a photo, a recipe or memento that tells your family story of emigration to or from Cork? Bring it along to Cork City Library and record your story for future generations.

For Heritage Week we invite you to share your own stories of migration to or from Cork. On the day, researchers will be collecting stories and photographing your objects at Cork City Library. These could include family letters, postcards, photographs, tickets, diaries, artworks, items of clothing, recipes, books, film, mementos, badges or songs. The stories and images will later become part of the online Europeana Migration Collection (Europe’s digital library, museum, gallery and archive).
