Join Rebecca Kemp from the Rose of Tralee International Festival Office for a lively afternoon chat on the challenges and excitement of collecting and minding the Rose of Tralee winners' dresses.
Every year during Heritage Week, Kerry County Museum hosts a popular exhibition showcasing the dresses of past Roses along with memorabilia from the Museum's collection. Rebecca's talk is part of a series of events commemorating the 60th anniversary of Kerry's annual festival. Rebecca will talk about re-creating the first dress from 1959, tracking down early dresses from the 1960s and 1970s and how the story of each dress and what it represents are as valuable to collect than the dress itself.
