1918 Centenary Exhibition

17 August, 10am - 4:45pm

  • Louth Library Service
  • Ardee Library
  • Co. Louth

The exhibition focuses on the critical period between the 1916 Rising and the General Election of December 1918 where the narrowest margin of victory for that election was seen in County Louth.

The exhibition draws on numerous fascinating archives found in collections held in Louth County Archives alongside additional material sourced from other institutions. The exhibition also includes resolutions that were passed by the local authorities of the day illustrating their attitudes and policies to the continual political changes. The title of this exhibition “It is resolved that ...” comes from the term used in the minute books when they pass these resolutions.
