This event is a celebration of the beauty of Co. Sligo, including its waterways, that inspired the artist Jack B. Yeats on this, the 150th anniversary of his birth. Sligo Tidy Towns are inviting people of all ages and ability levels, including family groups to capture the beauty and the biodiversity of Sligo's Garavogue river as it flows through the centre of our town, by creating their own painting of it during Water Heritage Day, Sunday, 22nd August. Any medium, from oils to crayons, and any equipment, from easels to clipboards, can be used.
All intending participants are advised to:
A. Register yourself / your family group online through Eventbrite below (bookings are limited and will be taken on a first come, first served basis).
B. Create your painting at any time from 2pm to 5pm on Sunday, 22nd August at a location of your choice anywhere from the start of John F. Kennedy Parade to the end of Doorley Park but not to impede the enjoyment of the area by others.
