As part of its Vernacular Irish Buildings Campaign 2021, SPAB Ireland will hold three events during Heritage Week. Beginning on Monday 16th August with the launch of the new Podcast Series, 'Heart to Hearth: Chats about vernacular Irish buildings' followed by a live online lecture at 7 pm on Wednesday 18th August entitled, 'The SPAB approach to preserving Irish vernacular buildings'.
Finally, a Working Party will take place from 20-22 August in Kilmore, Co. Armagh which will bring together volunteers and those working in historic building conservation offering a unique opportunity to carry out hands-on repair work and learn about traditional materials and techniques first hand. The project is generously supported by the Heritage Council under the Heritage Sector Support Fund 2021.

- 20-22 August
- SPAB Ireland Working Party at Kilmore Cottage, Co Armagh. Our working parties are a chance for participants to combine well-proven SPAB principles with practical repair techniques. For this Working Party, we welcome applications from anyone with some practical hands-on conservation experience - whether you've attended a Working Party in the past, have experience working on your own home or work as a conservation practitioner. There will be another Working Party later in the year which is aimed at people with no previous experience, who are looking to learn some hands-on skills. The SPAB Ireland Working Party is a way to bring a diverse range of people together to share knowledge and to boost the skills which are required when working with historic vernacular buildings such as Kilmore Cottage.
