Tralee to Fenit Railway Turned Greenway

  • Co. Kerry

Opened in 2022, the former Tralee to Fenit rail line is an amazing segment of the Kingdom of Kerry Greenways. The railway-turned-greenway runs from Tralee town tracing the coastline of Tralee Bay to Fenit on the Wild Atlantic Way. Having operated for close to 100 years, 1887 to 1978, the old rail line is steeped in history and heritage. There is still much to inspire memories and to connect travellers with the rich heritage and history of this rail turned trail. This compilation is a tribute to the many people past and present who have taken the time to recount, collect and document diverse aspects of the history of the Tralee to Fenit Railway.
