Join us for a free tour to celebrate National Heritage Week, and discover the history and heritage of the Francis Ledwidge Museum. Examine how the conservation of the museum contributes to our enhanced understanding of the cultural and built heritage of the period of the poet's life. The tour will also demonstrate the current archive project, supported by the Heritage Council under the Community Heritage Grant Scheme 2021.

  • Join us for a free tour to celebrate National Heritage Week, and discover the history and heritage of the Francis Ledwidge Museum. Items on display include the poet's works and artefacts from World War I, alongside memorabilia of the period. The panel room exhibition portrays the poet's life in picture and text from his birth in the cottage to his death at the third battle of Ypres, Belgium, in July 1917. The tour will also demonstrate the current archive project, supported by the Heritage Council under the Community Heritage Grant Scheme 2021.
