Forgotten Evidence on the Sack of Balbriggan

Forgotten Evidence on the Sack of Balbriggan

aidan arnold
`Lusk Heritage Group

This project will consist of a book and video based on the contents of the attached PDF file. It contains newly discovered documentation relating to the Sack of Balbriggan and the murder of Terry Sherlock in Skerries in 1920. It is based on the evidence presented to a 150 man body based in Washington that was called The American Commission on Conditions in Ireland. My PDF file deals with the 1300 page report that this body released in May 1921.

A PDF of this project is being emailed to Fingal County Council via this email tricia.matthews@fingal.ie
I believe this newly discovered information has never been previously published in Ireland. Fingal County Council should take the opportunity to add this to their store of important historical local history.

As well as casting new light on the Sack of Balbriggan it also adds greatly to our knowledge of the circumstances surrounding the death of Terry Sherlock in Skerries in October 1920. I believe it will be a very valuable addition to all our understanding of this fascinating time in our local and national history
