Care of collections at 14 Henrietta Street

Care of collections at 14 Henrietta Street

ICRI with Conservators Aalia Kamal and Tania Desloge
Institute of Conservator-Restorers in Ireland

Join the Institute of Conservator-Restorers in Ireland (ICRI) for a talk by Dublin City Council Culture Company conservators Aalia Kamal and Tania Desloge as they describe the approach to caring for the collections at 14 Henrietta Street.

14 Henrietta Street opened to the public as a museum in 2018 after many years work to rescue and restore the building. It now houses a diverse range of objects, including digital items, where the primary artefact within the collection is the building itself. Tania and Aalia will talk through the challenges and opportunities presented by caring for a newly established collection within a recently renovated historic building, which range from innovative 'real time' environmental monitoring to watchful waiting.
