HERITAGE WEEK EVENTS AT MERLIN PARK WOODS

Sunday, 16th August
Public walk bringing participants on a tour of Merlin Woods guided by Gordon Darcy and Martin Fitzpatrick which will detail the archaeology, history and natural world of Merlin Park.
Meet at 11am Merlin Community Garden
1-1.5hr duration

Tuesday, 18th August
Event for children & adults led by Gordon Darcy and Martin Fitzpatrick with walk followed by outdoor painting class (weather permitting) or sketching. All participants to bring note book/sketch pad and pencil.

Thursday, 20th August
‘Making Your Mark in Merlin Woods’
A walking tour led by Fiona Rooney (Archaeologist & Artist) and Martin Fitzpatrick. The tour will be an interactive engagement with the ancient mark making symbolism of the Ogham alphabeth in Merlin Park Woods. Suitable for 12-16 yrs.

Saturday, 22nd August
‘The Marks of Merlin Wood’
A walking tour led by Fiona Rooney (Archaeologist & Artist) and Martin Fitzpatrick. The symbolism of the Merlin Sheela-na-gig in the context of Sacred Art. Suitable for 14 yrs. And upwards
