Ag Fiosrú ár n-Oidhreacht Feamainne / Exploring our Seaweed Heritage

Rosie Nic Cionnaith
Fanad Lighthouse

Ba mhaith le Teach Solais Fhánada oidhreacht na feamainne anseo i leithinis Fhánada agus sa chontae a fhiosrú agus a cheiliúradh. Roinnigí bhur scéalta linn!

Cad iad na cinn a d’ith daoine, agus a itheann fós? Ar úsáideadh é mar ábhar áilleachta nó folctha? An raibh/bhfuil aon úsáid sláinte nó leighis le baint as? An bhfuil oideas blasta agat a bhfuil feamainn ann? An bhfuil aon scéalta nó grianghraif agat a bhaineann le hoidhreacht na feamainne?

Ba mhaith linn cloisteáil ó phobal Fhánada agus Dhún na nGall – is féidir aon ábhar a chur chugainn ag info@fanadlighthouse.com. Déanfar taispeántas ar líne ag deireadh an togra.

Fanad Lighthouse would like to explore and celebrate the heritage of seaweed here in the Fanad peninsula and the county. Share your stories with us!

Which varieties did people eat, and still eat? Was it used as a beauty or bath product? Was/is it used for health or medicinal purposes? Have you any tasty recipes including seaweed? Have you any stories or photos relating to seaweed’s heritage? We would love to hear from the Fanad community and from Donegal natives – contact us at info@fanadlighthouse.com.

We will create an online exhibition with the findings of the project.
