


#MyHeritageWeek: Share your National Heritage Week memories
This year, the Heritage Council marks 15 years since it first assumed the role of coordinator of National Heritage Week. As we take a new approach to National Heritage Week 2020 - inviting you to organise projects that will be showcased on our website during National Heritage Week - we want to reflect on the diverse range of heritage activities that have taken place over the past 15 years of National Heritage Week.
Update: Heritage Week 2020
In light of the public health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Heritage Council, in consultation with the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, is considering what approach to Heritage Week 2020 might be appropriate and in line with public health safety.
Cancelled: Heritage Week Training Day
Due to the evolving COVID-19 situation, and in light of Government advice, the Heritage Council has taken the decision to cancel the upcoming Training Day in Portlaoise on Tuesday, 31st March. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

We are delighted to share our theme for Heritage Week 2020: ‘Heritage and Education: Learning from our Heritage’. Engaging with our shared heritage – in Ireland and across Europe – presents a rich source for learning, and an opportunity to rediscover and reconnect with the knowledge, traditions and skills of our ancestors.
