Learn how to sustainably collect, save and store native wildflower seeds

Seed saving is an age-old tradition of resilience that is a great way to get engaged with nature and the community. It's a simple concept that means exactly what it sounds like: saving seeds in order to grow them in the future. This fun and empowering exercise is hugely important for protecting diversity and this project will be focused on local wildflower seeds. You will learn about wildflower seed identification in order to be able to make proper selections for seed saving. You will also learn about seed harvesting, storing and growing.

This event will take place outdoors in the grounds of Midleton Lodge where Cork County Council has established a wildflower meadow. Meeting place will be near the Cork County Council East Cork Municipal District Offices. Google Map Coordinates: 51.912281, -8.166853.

All ages welcome but under 18s must be accompanied by a guardian. Places are limited and booking is essential. If you can no longer attend, please cancel your ticket so someone else may avail of it.
