Celebrate our natural heritage during Heritage Week with a special Wild Child Day!
Join us for an exciting Nature Scavenger Hunt, designed especially for children. As summer gently transitions into autumn, the Irish countryside is bursting with life and colour — the perfect time to explore and discover nature’s hidden treasures.
Along the way, children will:
• Learn fascinating facts about local plants and animals
• Understand the importance of biodiversity
• Discover how to respect and protect nature
What to bring:
• Comfortable outdoor clothing and sturdy shoes
• A hat and sunscreen, and a rain jacket (just in case!)
All materials will be provided, and there will be plenty of support along the way.
This free event is made possible by the Heritage and Biodiversity Officers at Westmeath County Council.
✅ Places are limited, so booking is essential.
Suitable for children aged 6+ (must be accompanied by a parent or guardian).
