What Makes a ‘Real River’ – An Exploration along the North Bank of the (Munster) Blackwater at Monanimy

  • Meet at Convent carpark, Nano Nagle’s Birthplace, Killavullen, Mallow,
  • Co. Cork County

By kind permission of the landowner, himself a published local historian, Participants, proceeding on foot from the nearby Convent carpark, will be guided along the river’s edge by Ted Cook, beneath limestone river cliffs – and explore why ‘Real Rivers’ flood. This Field Survey requires ‘sure-footedness’, as we will pass along narrow paths, steep inclines and uneven ground.
