Water Sampling in Newtown Woods

A look at the small creatures that live in a freshwater stream and how their presence or absence tells us how clean or polluted the stream water is. We will take samples from the stream and using the Citizens Science Streams Index we look for the "Good Guys", which need clean water and the "Bad Guys", which tolerate polluted water. We will also identify the other little creatures that live in the streambed.
