Fresh water is a precious resource and the most threatened. 3% of the earths water is fresh water and of that only 1% is available at any one time. Wetlands play an important role as they act as a natural sponge to help prevent flooding. 40% of all species live and breed in the wetlands so we must protect that. 90% of Irelands Wetlands have been drain in the past 50 years. We wish to spread awareness of the importance of Wetlands for the species but also for the environment.
