Tours of Stradbally Hall
Tours of Stradbally Hall - In Association with Historic Houses of Ireland.
Approached by a long drive that sweeps dramatically through ancient parkland studded with chestnuts and oaks, Stradbally Hall lies at the heart of an old-world demesne that has been home to the Cosby family since 1620. The present house was built in 1772 but extensively renovated and enlarged in 1868 by Charles Lanyon, the architect behind Queen’s University, Belfast, and Castle Leslie. However, a large finely-decorated suite from the original Georgian house, comprising the dining room, saloon and drawing room, also remains and overlooks the formal gardens.
