There will be a free guided tour of Holycross Abbey at 2:30 pm each day of Heritage Week, from August 16th to 24th, except on Saturday, the 23rd.
2025 marks the 50th anniversary of the renovations of the Abbey. These considerable works, completed over a five-year period, brought new life back to the ruined abbey, which had fallen into decay with the departure of the Cistercian Community in 1650. The first official opening and dedication of the restored church, an event of national significance, took place on Sunday, the 5th of October 1975.
