Tour of Trohanny Cottage, Co. Meath

16 August, 2pm - 4pm

  • Trohanny Cottage
  • Trohanny, Monalty
  • Co. Meath

Opening its half-door for public viewing for the very first time, Trohanny Cottage is a unique 185-year-old pre-Famine thatched home and farmstead, offering a rare glimpse into Ireland’s rural past.
Join owner Aine, who meticulously restored the cottage with her late husband, for an intimate gathering in this serene and storied setting. Once a derelict ruin, Trohanny Cottage has been lovingly brought back to life—every detail echoing the rhythms of a simpler time.
Enjoy a gentle walk-and-talk tour of the cottage and surrounding farmstead. Settle by the fireside as Aine reads from her book, 'Tales from an Irish Thatch'. Share tea, coffee, and biscuits in the warmth of the hearth.
A celebration of heritage, storytelling, and the enduring spirit of home.

Not forgetting, of course, Trohanny's Welcoming Committee of friendly horses, donkeys, dogs and cats!

In association with Historic Houses of Ireland for the Heritage Open Doors initiative.

PRE-BOOKING BY EMAIL IS ESSENTIAL as numbers are strictly limited by the size of the cottage.

Saturday 16th of August: 2 pm to 4 pm
