Tours of Leixlip Castle

Castle tours will take place daily during Heritage week at 10.15 11.15 and 12.15.
Castle Grounds will be open between 9am - 1pm

Leixlip Castle was built by Adam de Hereford in 1172 on a rock overlooking the River Liffey. The building was added to over the centuries and has been continuously inhabited for 800 years.
The Hon. Desmond Guinness bought the castle in 1958 and the contents include many examples of Irish furniture and paintings.
