Niamh O’Sullivan, former archivist at Kilmainham Gaol and respected Irish historian, will join the Jackie Clarke Collection for a thought-provoking workshop on the vital role archives play in shaping museums, public institutions, and collective identities. Drawing on her extensive experience in one of Ireland’s most historically significant sites, Niamh will explore how archives are not just records of the past but powerful tools for interpretation, storytelling, and community engagement.
This moderated session will include guided discussion, with Niamh responding to key questions around archival preservation, access, and the importance of context when managing historical material. Whether you work in heritage, are involved in community projects, or simply have an interest in Ireland’s cultural memory, this workshop offers valuable insights into the living legacy of archives.
