A documentary on the life and work of Ken Bond, esteemed entomologist, biodiversity specialist and member of Tracton Biodiversity Group. Made by local videographer Catherine Hol.
Ken is a distinguished authority - nationwide and at the European level - on Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths), having spent almost 40 years surveying and recording moths and butterflies. He has amassed a database of 50,000 records, making a huge contribution to our understanding of Irish Lepidoptera. In our exhibition space upstairs we will have a selection of moths and butterflies captured by Ken.
One of a series of weekend events organized for National Heritage week by Tracton Biodiversity Group.
Included in the weekend: Irish Wildlife Sounds with Séan Ronayne (booking require, see separate entry for), an evening Bat Walk, exhibition, farm outings, talks/presentations, a Ceilidh mór and children's workshops...and of course refreshments.
