The cultural heritage of Inchovea will be presented in this evening of talks and discussion.

Pat O'Looney, historian, native of Inchovea and author of 'At Least Once a Year' will present his memoir of growing up in this area.

Edel Barry, Community Archaeologist and Inchovea native, will present the archaeological heritage of this area, which encompasses Early Medieval settlement in the form of ringforts and crannogs, and a striking late Medieval tower house, known locally as Inchovea Castle.

Local historian and guide Stephen Hegarty will lead an open discussion of the heritage of the area, with its evocative and intangible placename.

This event is run with support from Clare County Council and the Heritage Council.
