"The Geography of Human Suffering - a Famine Relief Road Walk"
An X-PO Heritage walk, guided by Tony Kirby. Free of charge, but numbers are limited. Sunday, 18th August at 10 am. Booking via X-PO email.
The location and historical context bring to life the Great Hunger, and the prevailing ethos that made relief to the destitute available, only in return for hard labour. The indelible marks of these organised relief works remain in the landscape.
