This art exhibition will be a collaborative artwork made up of 30cm square wooden panels, each a unique piece of art created by an artist of the 402 Art Collective. The collaborative art piece is a celebration and a commemoration of the connection of the Avoca River to the town; in the past, in the present and going forward.

From the natural beauty of the fauna and flora to the social heritage through recreation and wellbeing, and interconnected web of life from the water, the sustainability of the river is paramount to keep it alive for generations to come. This can only happen with supporting biodiversity and a commitment to maintain a healthy river ecosystem. This needs a commitment of monetary investment from the authorities and also a commitment from the people to accept joint ownership of and shared responsibility for this amazing resource in the town.
This exhibition will be a powerful and visually exciting statement from the 402 Art Collective of the value and connection of the Avoca River to the people of Arklow.

Part of the larger "Rediscovering the underwater world along Arklow's Coastline" project by the 402 Art Collective, supported by Creative Ireland and Wicklow County Council.
