"Take a Local Link to the Past for National Heritage Week"
A Transport For Ireland Local Link Service has opened from Glendalough to Wicklow which has been extended in both directions now serving Sallins to Arklow. Operating four times a day, seven days a week, the enhanced route is part of the Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan which is a major national transport initiative developed and funded by the National Transport Authority, with the aim of increasing connectivity and a sustainable method of travel, particularly for people living outside major cities and towns.
As the theme for Heritage Week is based on Connections, Routes and Networks; the OPW want to incentivise people to use this sustainable mode of travel to Glendalough and visitors who present their Local Link bus ticket from Monday August 19th to Friday August 23rd will get free entry into Glendalough Visitor Centre.
