In honour of Heritage Week 2024, a new panel is on display at the People's Museum in Limerick City, celebrating the legacy in Limerick of Sir Richard Bourke, founder of the city of Melbourne. The panel focuses on Bourke's foundation of the Limerick Model Agricultural School opened in Mungret in 1856 and was reopened in 2016 as Mungret Park.

Thornfield House is a member of Historic Houses of Ireland as is the Bishop's Palace in Limerick which is in the care of the Limerick Civic Trust.
