Silver Dart

This socially engaged art project is a performance of a re-enactment of ancient rights as admiral of the Shannon. The ancient ceremony of casting a silver dart into the river, which for centuries has signified the people of Limericks lordship over the river which was performed by the Mayor of Limerick.
On water heritage day currach rowers, the Seol Sionna and Kilrush digniteries will perform a ceremony which will see them sail to Scattery island from Kilrush marina and throw a silver dart from the boat into the river claiming admiral rights for Kilrush.
